Our Vision…
To end homelessness in McHenry County one person at a time.

Our Mission…
To reconnect homeless men, women, and children with the community by providing emergency, transitional, and preventive services and to raise public understanding regarding homelessness in McHenry County.

McHenry County PADS Emergency Program

PADS’ ten emergency church sites are open October 1 through April 30 of each year. Every night from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., these sites alternate at participating McHenry County churches.

Each site offers a warm evening meal, a safe place to sleep, breakfast in the morning, case management and hospitality.

Volunteer Site Managers maintain and oversee the needs of their site, coordinating other volunteers with meal preparation, laundry, security and clean-up.

All homeless men, women and children are welcome. In addition, PADS now offers four, year-round sleeping rooms (14 beds) at our Woodstock facility. These rooms are available for persons with documented proof of residency in McHenry County for the last 30 days who also meet one of the requirements described below:

  • Families or single parents with children
  • Persons with documentation of physical illness or injury
  • Persons with documented proof of moving into permanent or transitional housing
  • Persons in need of emergency housing who are willing to work intensively with a case manager to develop a plan to end homelessness

Referrals can be made to: Case Managers, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
